Mastering Aboriginal Inclusion in Mining

Mastering Aboriginal Inclusion in Mining is a module series designed to nurture and grow the competencies that help companies become employers-of-choice for Aboriginal talent.

Launched in 2008, Mastering Aboriginal Inclusion is a revolutionary human resource program that represents the combined work of the Aboriginal Human Resource Council (AHRC) and a dedicated group of Canada's leading diversity companies and organizations.  This innovative program offered the first-ever training and self-study modules designed specifically to help employers create workplaces of Aboriginal inclusion.

Three years in the making and drawing on an unprecedented array of initiatives and practices, Mastering Aboriginal Inclusion marks a potential turning point for companies interested in recruiting, retaining and advancing Aboriginal workers.

AHRC is considered Canada's leading innovators in Aboriginal recruitment, retention, and advancement.

Mastering Aboriginal Inclusion in Mining, the result of a strategic alliance between AHRC and MiHR, expanded research efforts to include more than 20 additional companies, labour organizations and industry associations in the mining sector.

Based on the baby boomer retirement forecasts, the mining industry will face a sever skills shortage over the next decade.  The Aboriginal population is growing six times faster than Canada's non-Aboriginal population.  Aboriginal communities are also located in close proximity to mine and exploration site, making local peoples an ideal source of human resources.

Discover your individual business case for inclusion and learn proven tools and tricks for recruiting, retaining and advancing Aboriginal workers. Enhance your corporate social responsibility while opening new markets and becoming an employer-of-choice for Aboriginal talent.
