The Mineral Exploration and Mining Virtual Career Fair is a collaborative initiative between the Mining Industry Human Resources (MiHR) Council and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and will be live February 8-9, 2012.

MiHR has forecasted that Canada's mineral exploration and mining sector will require tens of thousands of skilled workers to meet the growing needs of the industry over the next decade. With the continued strength of the mineral exploration and mining sector and retirement eligibility at an all-time high, labour shortages are more prevalent than ever.

Mining and exploration companies are under renewed pressure to recruit and retain top talent. MiHR and PDAC are pleased to provide an innovative and cost effective solution to recruitment. This Virtual Career Fair is a recruitment solution without the travel costs of a traditional career fair that gives employers access to career seekers outside of their immediate region.

What is a Virtual Career Fair?

A Virtual Career Fair is recognized as an innovative communication tool. Virtual fairs are comprised of 3D graphics, audio and video content, and replicate similar environments found at physical fairs, but without the restriction of location. These new tools allow for rapid and efficient contact between employers and candidates who are searching for new challenges. Gone are the costs of travelling, shipping and time away from the office!
